Assistant Business Manager | ICF International | Fairfax, VA

ICF seeks an Assistant Business Manager to support the operations of 2 consulting practices with a combined $75 million in annual revenues. This position is based at ICF's metro accessible headquarters office in Fairfax, VA and reports to the Business Manager of the 2 practices.

The Assistant Business Manager is responsible for providing financial analysis and operational guidance for 2 practices. Responsibilities include:

Financial Analysis:
  • Provide management with analysis of operational and financial performance
  • Advise Line of Business Leaders on business operations and performance
  • Prepare supporting analysis for periodic reviews
  • Recommend action plans based on analysis of key business issues
  • Serve as the point of contact for corporate wide analysis of business performance.

Business Development Support:
  • Track contract backlog and pipeline volume
  • Provide financial review and strategic guidance in major bid and proposal efforts
  • Assist in contract negotiation and execution
  • Assist management in identifying new revenue and customer opportunities.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist leadership in the development and implementation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Assist with pricing projects and proposals
  • Prepare and update forecasts on a regular basis.

Project Revenue Administration:
  • Review project revenue, working closely with finance and the project managers
  • Work closely with managers to identify and understand revenue risks and opportunities

Liaison between other departments:
  • Very high profile position involving interfacing with all levels of the organization, including the company's executive management
  • Liaison between Contracts, Pricing, Accounting, Business Development and executive management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, finance or related subject required, MBA or Master's Degree in related field strongly preferred. The Assistant Business Manager should have at least 5 years experience in Financial Analysis and have demonstrated experience in Government Consulting. The Assistant Business Manager must demonstrate strong management and decision-making skills, be able to work successfully with various departments within the company, and be comfortable in a highly visible role. Strong spreadsheet and database analysis experience required, and experience with CostPoint preferred. The Assistant Business Manager must demonstrate exemplary written and verbal communication skills, time management skills and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
